History

Originally founded as a family business in 1972 to supply rental equipment for traffic management such as drums, portable message boards, arrow boards, and traffic cones to contractors and municipalities throughout the Northeast, Liddell quickly became a preferred subcontractor and supplier of traffic control products for highway improvement projects and town road maintenance projects, a service that continues today. In the 1980s, Liddell began manufacturing and installing warning, route and regulatory signs, which led to the growth of additional divisions that focused on the installation of overhead signs and structures, pavement markings, and guardrails. By the 1990s Liddell Brothers was bidding as a general contractor on highway construction work throughout the six New England states.

Today, Liddell Brothers employs over 100 employees during construction season and is one of New England’s best-known general contracting, subcontracting and equipment rental companies, with a reputation built on high quality and timely customer response as well as top-of-the-line equipment and dedicated skilled staff. The Liddell Brothers logo is a well recognized symbol of traffic safety setups on the roadways of New England and beyond. Liddell has successfully completed projects in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and as far south as Florida.
